Job overview
INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES ONLY
IT Support Technician, Band 5 - 37.5hr
Love diagnosing and solving complex IT problems for others? Interested in continuing your IT career within the NHS? Would you enjoy being part of a team who are involved in implementing technologies which support both transformation and innovation? If you do, this could be the job for you as we are currently looking to recruit an IT Support Technician to join the team based in the Maglona House.
The team provides remote and field based support to our user base both in clinical and non-clinical settings across North and West Cumbria. As well as supporting end user devices within the operational environment (hardware, software and firmware), you will support the delivery of projects.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the team you will play a valuable part in delivering support to a wide range of hardware and software solutions, including (but not limited to) desktop workstations, laptops, mobile carts, iOS & Android devices, printers, fixed and mobile telephony. A good working knowledge of Active Directory and SCCM are needed to be successful in this role, as well as extensive knowledge and the ability to resolve complex IT issues, especially those associated with the Microsoft Windows operating system. Experience in Mobile Device Management solutions would also be advantageous.
You will need to demonstrate good technical knowledge and experience in IT hardware and software support in a busy environment, preferably in a similar role, and be both dynamic and responsive in your approach to work. You must be capable of managing and effectively prioritising your own workload.
You will need to build relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff and be the point of contact for managing all hardware and software issues assigned to you whilst working in accordance with the Trusts service level agreement. As a result, efficient and effective communication skills in a wide range of forms are vital.
Participation in an extended out of hours rota covering evenings and weekends may be required. As well as the flexibility to work outside of working hours when required.
