The Trust provides a comprehensive range of general acute hospital services and community healthcare; we are currently working with the Commissioners to help develop a comprehensive service for the whole of Cumbria.

We are looking for a competent and professional HCPC registered registered BMS with NHS experience to work in the Histology Department based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. 

The post holder will work  alongside other BMS and Laboratory Support Staff to provide and efficient service.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the job are to  carry out & supervise technical and scientific work in a section of the laboratory under the direction of the biomedical scientist team manager. Ensure prompt processing of patient specimens including analysis, utilising highly complex automated analytical equipment, manual methods, specialist and complex testing. Perform laboratory procedures effectively, rotating through the sections of the department, to provide a comprehensive pathology service as an aid to effective diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Standard Check: £21.50 + Administration cost of £6.50 = £28.00. Deducted from salary over following 4 months or one off payment.

Enhanced Check: £49.50 + administration cost of £6.50 = £56.00. Deducted from salary over following 4 months or one off payment.
