Band 5 Staff Nurse, ICU, Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle up to 67.5 hours Fixed Term available,
We are seeking a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our team on the Intensive Care Unit at the Cumberland Infirmary.
The unit will provide a 6 week preceptorship period with the Intensive Care Clinical Educator.
Main duties of the job
Our busy 9 bedded unit provides adult intensive care, high dependency care and post anaesthetic care for elective and emergency patients across a range of medical and surgical specialities including, Renal, Cardiology, Orthopaedic, Multi-trauma, Facial-maxillary, Gastroenterology, Vascular, Neurological and Obstetric patients; Organ donation and retrieval service; Stabilisation and transfer of adult patients requiring more specialised intensive care e.g. neurological trauma, burns, spinal injuries, cardiac and hepatic disease.
Stabilisation and delivery of intensive care and or high dependency care for paediatric patients. Preparation and assistance in transfer of paediatrics to specialised paediatric unit if clinically indicated.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse with current registration.
Desirable criteria
- Foundations in critical care or equivalent.
- NoECCN Step competences 1 & 2 completed or equivalent.
- Further relevant post-registration development to postgraduate diploma equivalent.
Skills
