Band 3 Specialist Rehabilitation and Mobility Centre Administrator 37.5 hours per week, permanent
The post holder will act as a Specialist Rehabilitation and Mobility Centre Administrator to facilitate the provision of wheelchairs and associated equipment to service users throughout North Cumbria. They will communicate effectively with all service users and colleagues, and by following departmental guidelines and standards ensure an efficient and effective service is provided.
Main duties of the job
To work cohesively with the admin and clinical team within Wheelchair Services, to undertake the following:
- dealing with patients on the telephone and face to face, fielding all enquiries and communicating timescales, using empathy and compassion at all times
- booking clinical appointments for a variety of different wheelchair clinics, including on-site and domiciliary visits and MDT work
- ordering equipment on procurement system and tracking equipment to alert clinician when ready for handover. This regularly involves communicating and negotiating with suppliers
- liaising with approved repairer (based in Carlisle) to ensure stock levels are adequate and all appropriate equipment received has been had a pre-delivery inspection undertaken and registered as ready for handover
- clinic planning alongside clinical lead ensuring patients are seen in a timely manner, allocating of patients to the appropriate clinic type and ensuring identified and tracked equipment is delivered to the correct location
- taking delivery, unpacking, labelling up and storing wheelchair accessories in on-site wheelchair store room
- processing wheelchair referrals
- providing reception cover for the Centre, as part of a rota in the event of reception team being absent
