Education and qualifications

Essential criteria

Biomedical Sciences (Hons) degree or equivalent qualification
HCPC registration
Specialist portfolio in Haematology, Transfusion or equivalent experience

Experience

Highly developed technical and scientific skills
Proven ability to manage resources effectively.
Evidence of highly developed written and oral communication skills in a variety of settings.
Experience of working within a team
Full understanding and awareness of the Standards for accreditation of medical laboratories
NHS or other public sector experience
Quality management experience

Essential criteria

Experience in a large multidisciplinary organisation
Ability to work as part of a cohesive team

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
