Job overview

An exciting opportunity has a risen for 2  Band 3 Clinical Support Worker posts to work within our team in the Main Outpatient Department at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

A 32hrs per week and a 24hrs per week 

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team.  Providing high quality, compassionate, patient focused care within the Main Out Patient Department at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary 

It would be desirable if you possessed an NVQ 2/3 in Health & Social Care. 

Previous experience in an outpatient or clinical setting is an advantage.

 

Main duties of the job

Working under supervision, you will be required to work flexibly within the team  to support clinical service delivery within the department.

You must possess excellent communication, IT and customer care skills and demonstrate an ability to work both independently and as part of the wider team.






Working for our organisation

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. 

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. 

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. 

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay

Education and qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Good general education
  • • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • • Willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in care related area
Desirable criteria
  • • Willingness to undertake NVQ level 3 in care related area
  • • ECDL or equiv

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Previous experience of working with the general public.
Desirable criteria
  • • Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids.

Skills, ability and knowledge

Essential criteria
  • • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood).
  • • Good basic hygiene skills
  • • Ability to follow a clear instruction and feed back to senior staff.
  • • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative or with minimal supervision.
