Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria

Good General Education including English and Maths GSCE at Grade C/4 or above or Functional Skills Level 2.
Good Command of English Language
NVQ Level 3 Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiography support or equivalent experience

Desirable criteria

Trained in cannulation
Trained in venepuncture

Experience

Essential criteria

Experience of patient facing hospital or care work

Desirable criteria

Experience in a radiology or out-patient clinic setting

Skills, ability and knowledge

Essential criteria

Knowledge of computer systems relating to healthcare
Ability to work to Trust and Department Policies and Procedures

Evidence of personal development (PDP)
Knowledge of Radiology Information Systems and PACS.

Peer MDT diagnostic decision-making, with the support of the senior clinical MDT where required
Tech-enabled outcome report writing

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
