Mental Health Adviser

Band 7

The Welsh Ambulance Service (WAST) Mental Health and Dementia (MHD) team is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and dedicated mental health professional (nurse, AHP, social worker, other) to join us at band 7.

Are you interested in educating and developing our staff. Do you have a desire to improve standards of care for patients with mental health problems? Do you have a proven record of delivering education within the healthcare setting and working collaboratively to ensure that patients receive the highest quality, evidenced-based care?

Applications are welcomed from current Band 7s or experienced Band 6 professionals who have strong leadership skills and would welcome the opportunity to further enhance their expertise in a busy and challenging environment.

The post holder will work flexibly as a member of the team to ensure standards are being developed, maintained and evaluated.

You will be expected to provide senior clinical and professional advice to WAST staff, maintaining the professional standards within the Trust and ensuring that staff develop the competencies to practice in line with statutory and organisation standards.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Welsh language skills are desirable
