Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, working across the Acute medical service including EMU, Short stay and SDEC. The medical team consists of 12 acute medical consultants with a broad range of specialist interests, alongside higher training registrars, IM3, GPVTS, JCF, foundation doctors, Physician associates and specialist nurses.
This role will enable an ST3+ or equivalent level doctor to consolidate knowledge, skills, and confidence to enable future career progression, including achievement of requirements for application to specialty training. The minimum skill requirement is 4 years of post-graduate experience, and full MRCP.
Some aspects of the role can be tailored to the individual needs of the post-holder, taking account of previous relevant experience.
This is the ideal role for someone wanting to develop clinical skills and decision making in a supported environment. There will be opportunities to work on quality improvement projects or pathway development within the service.
A clinical supervisor will be allocated and will provide support for the duration of the placement including helping you develop a portfolio and complete SLEs to evidence learning and training to support future applications for higher specialty training.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full GMC registration with licence to practice
- MBChB or equivalent
- MRCP
Desirable criteria
- ALS, provider certification
- Completion of IMT training or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience
- At least 2 years of experience in the acute specialties
- At least one year experience working within the NHS
Desirable criteria
- Teaching delivery experience (any modality) to UG medical students.
- Previous experience of working in acute/ general medicine
Skills
Essential criteria
- Basic IT skills
- Ability to confidently manage a broad range of General medicine medical presentations
