Job overview
The Booking Officer provides effective and efficient administration and clerical support to the Endoscopy Department, working independently and to standard operating procedures.
The booking office book patients in for their Endoscopy test working to local and national waiting time directives. The successful post holder will provide a professional service to patients that is responsive to their needs.

This role will involve booking patients in for their Endoscopy test working to local and national waiting time directives. You will also provide a professional service to patients that is responsive to their needs.
The post holder will provide a high-quality administration service within the Endoscopy Department.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- Good general standard of education (GCSE’s or equivalent)
- Text processing/IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Any office based training eg: NVQ/ECDL
- Medical terminology
- OCR Stage II text processing
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within an administration services, including working with the general public
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in a health care environment
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
- Ability to work in a high pressured environment
- Experience of using computer applications
- Understand the principles of patient confidentiality
