Non-Medical Prescribing
|
1.
|
To communicate effectively with children, adolescents, carers and staff across the health community to maximise client outcomes.
|

To utilise communication skills of persuasion, motivation and explanation to encourage patients to make behaviour change where there may be resistance to change.
|

To use different methods of communicating where there may be barriers to effective communication.
To manage and communicate complex, sensitive and potentially contentious information using interpersonal skills requiring a need for empathy and reassurance. To use such skills to appropriately challenge children and adolescents and those involved in their care, including family members and other professionals.

To be actively involved in the implementation and development of Quality Governance.

To collate and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to provide evidence of productivity, outcomes and quality of care.

Develops proposals and business cases for future service development/innovation and provides reports as appropriate e.g. commissioners etc.

Leads on the development of strategic planning, service objectives and operational developments relating to the service

Develop relationships with patient support groups (speciality specific) to ensure effective support networks

Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders developing and maintaining a national nursing profile relating to speciality

To work with and alongside local and national networks and partnerships promoting and disseminating evidence of service development

Lead on the development and implementation of speciality specific policy, guidelines and protocols as appropriate in conjunction with the Clinical Lead

Leads and facilitates change internally and externally as appropriate, ensuring patient and carer involvement throughout the process

Acts as a role model providing leadership for nursing within CAMHS

Provide clinical supervision both within and external to the Trust in order to support development of individuals and practice

Take the lead with investigations and reporting of incidents, complaints and concerns raised relating to the service, ensuring appropriate action is taken

To be familiar with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety Policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol

Deal with incidents appropriately and according to Trust policy

Complying with Trust Policies and Procedures at all times particularly those concerning essential training, equal opportunities, health and safety and the prevention, control of infection and Information Governance

Safeguarding the health and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults, by being familiar with and adhering to Trust safeguarding policies and participating in relevant training

The national NHS smoke free policy, which prohibits smoking anywhere on Trust grounds

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- 1st level degree or equivalent
- Physical examination course or experience
- Evidence of learning/qualification at Master's level or equivalent
- Teaching and Assessing

- Led change management project
- Over 3 years' experience in CAMHS and demonstrable advanced clinical skills
- Ability to deal with complex and difficult emotional situations
- Experience in training and presentations
- Experience of undertaking audit and completion of the audit cycle or nursing research
- Previously worked as a CNS
- Developed educational programme
- Experience of collaborating with other agencies
- Ability to analyse data/information and make complex decisions
- Leadership and Management experience

- Published work and evidence of promoting a service externally
- Led strategic work/planning
- Developed a research proposal and led a research project
- Writing business proposals
