Job overview
We are looking to recruit bank staff to work within our Children’s Physiotherapy department here at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The team provides Specialist Physiotherapy Services to
children with Neurodevelopmental difficulties, age 0-18 years, across
North Derbyshire.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for managing your own varied caseload and work autonomously across a variety of settings including special and mainstream schools, hospital and community clinics and patient’s homes. You may be required to assist with hydrotherapy and CPIP’s clinics.
You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to support children, young people and their families by assessing their needs and devising appropriate interventions.
You will have a recognised vocational degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy and be able to demonstrate significant experience of managing a community caseload of children with complex physical needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential requirements for this post.
We have excellent links and working arrangements with other teams in specialist children’s services and with Education and Social Care teams. You will work as part of a supportive and friendly team based in The Den, our purpose-built centre for children’s services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Recognised vocational diploma/degree in physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- • HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
- • Member of ACPPLD
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Evidence of work with children and/or young adults with a wide range of neuro-developmental difficulties
- • Evidence of working with children and/or young adults with learning disabilities
Desirable criteria
- • Experience of developing pool based programmes for children or young adults
Skills
Essential criteria
- • Specialist assessment and treatment approaches for children and young people with learning disabilities
- • In depth knowledge of postural care
- Knowledge of statutory special needs, policies and procedures
Desirable criteria
- • Recognised qualification in postural care
