ICT Technical Support Apprentice

Chesterfield Royal Hospital is committed to the recruitment, training and development of apprentices and you could join a host of other apprentices in undertaking training with the Royal! 

An opportunity has now arisen for a 15 / 18 month, level 3 apprenticeship providing the successful candidate with chance the to gain both a practical and theoretical understanding of all aspects of IT support required within the modern NHS. This will include working on the IT service desk, repairing and maintaining desk top computers and peripherals with a focus on the area of IT networks and server management in a virtualised environment.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital is setting up a wholly owned subsidiary company called Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services (DSFS), in which Facilities, Estates, Procurement, ICT, Patient Records and Finance will be transferring into in the New Year.

As this role is based in an area affected by the transfer, the successful candidate will also be expected to TUPE over to DSFS. The terms that you are recruited into the Trust on will be protected by TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings and Protection of Employment) Regulations. More details about the transfer and how this may affect this role can be discussed at interview.

It is desirable, but not essential, that you have GCSE A – C in English and Maths.

You should already have obtained a level 2 qualification or equivalent in an IT related subject. 

In addition to an in-depth on the job programme of training and development, we will support you to complete the appropriate qualification for the role plus additional training days where required.
