Job overview
The post holder will work as a member of the Imaging Leadership Team but work closely with the trust's IM&T team and other stakeholders.
The post holder will take clinical lead responsibility for the provision of PACS throughout the Trust, to ensure that clinical images are available when and where required for patient management and will liaise closely with clinical teams. They will oversee day to day operational activity and lead the strategic development of the PACS service for CRH.
The post holder will be the Trust expert in all issues relating to and affecting PACS, advise on appropriate prioritisation for service delivery and improvement and be responsible for the content, integrity, safe use and security of the PACS systems in the clinical environment.
Key elements of the role are:
Ensuring the PACS and RIS operates efficiently and effectively, both clinically and financially.
Continuously striving for improved performance and leading practice.
Lead the service, successfully developing people and systems to support the Trust vision and objectives.
The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
Main duties of the job
Provide strong visible leadership and act as a role model.
Clinical lead responsibility for RIS and PACS.
Leadership of a small team within the Imaging Care Unit.
Close working with the IM&T Team.
To oversee data quality issues, information governance and data security within the RIS/PACS system in conjunction with relevant trust departments and other PACS users in the regional network.
To represent Imaging at Local and regional meetings in matters relating to PACS, RIS and Provide advice and support on PACS and RIS at Division and Trust level.
Communicate complex technical information throughout the Imaging care unit and liaison with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, internally and externally to the organisation, to ensure the highest quality of patient care is delivered when RIS/PACS is used.
To work flexibly with some planned occasional out-of-hours work.
Lead Trust-wide initiatives and projects as required.
Deputise for the Head of Imaging when appropriate and required.

Essential criteria
- First degree or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of other specialist management training to diploma level
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience within the Healthcare sector at a management level including project management, business planning, change management, multidisciplinary working, financial management, human resource management, performance management
- Evidence of having achieved challenging healthcare/business targets
- Significant experience of RIS and PACS administration
- Experience of supporting programmes of change in a complex organisation
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a teaching hospital or other busy environment
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment
