Senior Therapy Support Worker (Occupational Therapy)

NHS AfC: Band 3

Job overview

Due to internal development within therapy services an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapy Senior Therapy Support worker to join our inpatient team.

As a Senior Therapy Support worker, you will be assessing and treating patients in a range of daily activities to encourage functional independence in preparation for their discharge from hospital.

You will be working under the guidance of an established and supportive team of qualified Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and other therapy support staff within the services.

The OT and PT team practice shared skills and you will be supported to achieve selective competencies within physiotherapy to enhance the service for our patients.

You will be supported to develop the skills to work independently, to provide delivery of care including liaison with patients, family members, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and external agencies following a “home first” model.

IT skills are required, as the service operates with electronic patient records.

There is a commitment to support 7-day services, so flexibility to work weekends on a rota system will be required.
