Temporary Orthopaedic Physiotherapist

Band 5

Job overview

We are looking for a Physiotherapist to join our welcoming and successful Orthopaedic Team here at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.  Together we are proud to deliver the highest standards of clinical quality, patient care and staff experience.

The successful applicant will need clinical knowledge relevant to trauma and elective orthopaedics, use accepted assessment and treatment techniques under HCPC standards, and educate patients under the guidance of senior staff.

We are looking for an individual who is flexible to the needs of the service and who has excellent time management and communication skills.  The ability to work as part of a team is essential in order to provide an effective and efficient service.  If you are looking for a busy, yet supportive and friendly department we would welcome your application.

Your happiness at work is important to us and we are committed to supporting your health and wellbeing.  Our proud to CARE values and Leading the Chesterfield Way behaviours are firmly embedded across the Trust, whilst our focus on proudly 'being you' supports our hospital to be a great place to work.

Please note that successful external candidates will be required to pay for their own DBS disclosure.  The current price of the check is £38 for an enhanced check and £18 for a standard check.  The cost will be deducted from the first salary payment.  Further details of the disclosure and barring service check will be confirmed upon offer of employment.

Main duties of the job

  • To assess, treat and educate patients referred to the Physiotherapy orthopaedic service, under the guidance of more senior staff.
  • Hours will be worked to support seven day service delivery where appropriate.
  • The fixed-term static post requires flexibility according to workload priorities, including support for seven-day services where appropriate. Responsibilities include multidisciplinary liaison, delegation to support staff, outcome monitoring, effective communication, and accurate record keeping.

Working for our organisation

Your happiness at work is important to us and we are committed to supporting your health and wellbeing.  Our proud to CARE values and Leading the Chesterfield Way behaviours are firmly embedded across the Trust, whilst our focus on proudly 'being you' supports our hospital to be a great place to work.

Our vision is to be a first-class provider of sustainable healthcare services, delivering the best possible care for our patients and being a great place to work for our people.  Our Proud to CARE philosophy supports this vision and we all play a part in achieving it, by living up to the values we promise to our patients and each other.
