Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join Tansley Ward as part of the existing Leadership team.

We are a forward thinking acute ward delivering high quality inpatient care for males of working age with a functional mental illness. We have a full MDT wrapped around the patient including Ward Based OTs, Psychology, Pharmacists,  Recreation Workers, Physiotherapists, Dieticians and access to other professions allied to health. We have a strong emphasis on person centred care and the sensory needs of our patients, especially given the increase in the number of patients with ASD and mental illness.

As a leadership team we are supported by Unit Matron and Clinical Leads under the direction of the Head of Nursing. We have regular Practice Development Groups, training opportunities and supervision. We are open to new ideas and embrace Quality Improvement at a team level.

We are in the process of preparing the team and our patients to move over to a purpose built unit on the same site in less than 12 months time, enabling us to deliver a person centred model of care in a state of the art environment. It will provide single, en-suite rooms, ward specific outside space, a progressive OT service working with the sensory needs of patients alongside a full MDT approach.

We are looking for an experienced RN to support high quality clinical care and be part of the preparations and planning for the move to a new environment.
