Maintenance Assistant
DSFS Grade B
Job overview
DSFS requires a highly motivated Maintenance Assistant who will be based within the estates department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The role will support various tradespeople within the workshop and so the post-holder will learn a wide mix of electrical, plumbing and mechanical skills in addition to their core skillset. Typical works would include supporting mechanical staff stripping down calorifiers and boilers, supporting with electrical light testing and helping our backlog maintenance team carry out replacement of fire doors.
The post-holder will be recruited into one of the workshop teams but may be required to work within any of the teams within the workshop depending on the needs of the department. There will be occasional requirements to work outside the normal estates hours (08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday) to carry out works which cannot be completed in hours and so a flexible approach to working hours is required.
The role will require occasional travel to our customers based outside of Chesterfield Royal Hospital, such as the community clinics that we manage for Royal Primary Care.
