Children's Occupational Therapy Assistant

Band 3

Due to our current Occupational Therapy Assistant leaving to undertake training and become a qualified Occupational Therapist we are looking to recruit a new member to our team.

The Children’s Occupational Therapy service consists of a skill mix of 8 qualified staff and one assistant who work deliver an innovative and high quality service across North Derbyshire. We strive to help children with physical disabilities develop their functional potential and work in a number of settings such as; homes, schools and also offer a small outpatient service.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, shaping the future of children’s occupational therapy provision. We have excellent links and working arrangements with other teams in Specialist Children’s Services and with Education and Social Care staff. We are looking for individuals who can think creatively, work flexibly, have the ability to work autonomously as well as being a strong team player, and have excellent communication skills. This role will involve assisting therapists in their day to day work, including undertaking administrative duties and supporting them with their work with therapy programmes. You will work as part of a supportive and friendly team based in The Den, our purpose built centre for Children’s Services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital
