Working Arrangements are £31,051.16 pro-rata based on 37.5 Whole Time Equivalent
We are looking for experienced Occupational Therapists with an interest in working in acute inpatient areas. We are seeking applicants who are passionate and committed and want to make a difference in continuously improving patient experience to join our bank and work on behalf of Derby Health Staffing .You will work on a zero hour contract enabling you to pick and choose shifts as when you require, giving you the flexibility over how and where you choose to work.

We offer a range of specialities providing you with the opportunity to gain a breadth of experience across a variety of services across all five sites, this includes Royal Derby Hospital, Florence Nightingale Community Hospital, Queens Hospital, Sir Robert Peal and Samuel Johnson Hospital.
Areas include, but are not limited to;
- Trauma inpatient services
- Neuro and medical elderly services
- Surgery and cancer therapy
- Emergency Department admission avoidance
Main duties of the job
- You will have excellent interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to work
- Be able to work effectively within an established team
- Have a minimum of 6 months post qualification experience in an acute hospital, which must be recent
- Have current and valid professional registration as defined by the job description
- Have evidence of ongoing CPD and learning related to your areas of practice.

This position is offered on a flexible basis.
•Support patient’s use of EC equipment by regularly reviewing them and their equipment requirements so as to meet changing needs and enable them to maintain a degree of independence
•To participate with the provision of other EAT with the integration of other specialties such as communication aids, powered wheelchair controls and other equipment of daily living, where this is appropriate.
•To collaborate with other clinical services and social agencies to optimise patient’s wellbeing.
•To ensure that patients and carers are well informed on the use of the equipment that has been loaned to them.
•To adapt equipment provision to meet the changing needs of the patient.
•To ensure adequate and relevant level of competency, including awareness of technological developments
•To promote the development and application of EC and other relevant EAT
•Consult with the Clinical Scientists and engineers from the contracted companies to ensure that the most appropriate cost-effective solutions are installed for clients.
•To maintain accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date documentation, in line with legal, professional and Trust requirements.
•Understand the use of computer hardware and software to deliver support to patients with computer access requirements.
•To engage in lifelong learning through an active CPD program.

Knowledge/Training/Experience
Essential criteria
- Degree or Equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- Member of RCOT or Equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in complex discharge planning
- Experience in collecting data/participating in audits
- Experience working in Acute medicine
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of CPD and Specialist interest group

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
