Job overview

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has training opportunities to complete Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Health Visiting for all qualified Nurses and Midwives on a fixed term 12 month contract. This is at level 7 in conjunction with the University of Derby.

Main duties of the job

The course is 50/50 theory and practice and both elements must be fulfilled in order to gain NMC registration. Academic study will be undertaken at the University of Derby and practice based learning will be within the Derby City School Nursing teams. Holidays are determined by the University and set within the course.

 

For this post you will work closely with a practice supervisor and be assessed during the placement.

You will be expected to achieve all elements of the competencies both academically and in practice as set out by the NMC.

On completion of the course you will be a qualified Specialist Public Health Nurse in School Nursing working within a 0-19 children's service division.
