Cellular therapy Coordinator - Haematology

We are recruiting for a Cellular Therapy Co-ordinator. This is a specialist role specifically relating to patients requiring stem cell transplants and CAR T therapy.
To be responsible for coordinating, planning and implementing expert nursing care providing support pre, peri and post the treatment.
To provide support and counselling for patients, their families and their donors. To be an expert resource and facilitator to educate and train other health care professionals.
Co-ordinates data collection across SW region for European database concerning all patients in the area.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification***

Peninsula teams to ensure regional stem cell transplants and CAR
therapy runs safely and efficiently.
To provide clinical expertise and work as part of a multidisciplinary
team.

- Work autonomously (within the haematology multidisciplinary team), to manage the care of patients who will need a stem cell transplant or CAR T therapy.
- Organises HLA tissue typing of patients and potential donors, liaising with GP’s wherever the donor lives.
- Organises pre treatment workup.
- Organises donor workup.
- Liaise with referring consultants pre and post treatment.
- Organise the schedule of the procedures, liaising within the hospital or across the region.
- Communicating with and counselling patients.
- Maintaining accurate patient records, ensuring all relevant information is documented in medical and nursing notes.
- Active participation in the transplant clinic, which relates to all aspects of patient care and management.
- Develop protocols for care of patients undergoing a transplant or CAR T therapy.

- Relevant demonstrable experience at Band 5 or above

- Relevant demonstrable clinical experience in Haematology
- Previous demonstrable experience at Band 6
Qualifications

- Registered Nurse
- Diploma in Nursing or Health Related Studies or equivalent demonstrable experience

- Degree in Health related subject
- Mentorship Course
- Leadership qualification or the willingness to undertake
