Job overview
This is a training role for Radiographers keen to move into MRI including those graduating in 2026. Starting at Band 5, you will automatically be moved to Band 6 upon completion of training, after satisfactory completion of competencies (approx. six to eight months).
Once training is complete you will become a Band 6 specialist MRI Radiographer, delivering a quality led, caring and timely MRI service.
The MRI department aims to provide a supportive environment with a focus on patient care, safe and quality practice, and staff well-being.
Our MRI department has two 3T Siemens Vida MRI scanners, a 1.5T Siemens Sola, two 1.5T Philips Ingenia scanners and 2 x 1.5T GE Voyager AIR scanners off site which you would be rotated through. We perform a wide range of MRI examinations including abdominal, pelvic, cardiac, breast, musculoskeletal, neuroimaging ,fMRI, paediatric and GA patients.
There is a CPD calendar with active participation from staff, and we support and encourage radiographers in their career development, including post-graduate study. Several MRI Radiographers comment on orbit radiographs, there are reporting Radiographers, and an advanced Cardiac MRI practitioner.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
