Job overview
To provide an efficient reception/administration support service to the multi-disciplinary team within the Oncology department, using iPM, Aria, VARIS (Radiotherapy system) and other Trust IT systems. This includes Oncology Outpatients and Chemotherapy Day Case.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Main duties of the job
To receive patients attending the clinic and check details on iPM (the Hospital computerised Patient Information System) or VARIS (Radiotherapy Patient Information System).
To log all times onto computer regarding throughput of patients through clinic.
Process outcome of appointments on iPM e.g. book follow-up, add patient to waiting list, discharge etc. Print off waiting list letters and act as a first point of contact for booking appointments.
Admitting/ discharging patients for Chemotherapy. Booking patients on ARIA system for further chemotherapy appointments.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience in the use of computers , in particular Microsoft Office
- Educated to GCSE A-C in Maths and English or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- • ECDL
- • NVQ in Administration
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Previous demonstrable administration experience
- • Good command of the English Language both verbally and in writing
- • Proven previous reception experience
Desirable criteria
- • Previous experience in Oncology Department
- • Knowledge of iPM
Applicant requirements
