The Urology Department, led by Mr. Paul Hunter-Campbell, includes 14 consultants—the largest team in the Peninsula region. Supported by nine middle-grade doctors providing 24-hour on-call cover, as well as trainees, foundation doctors, surgical care practitioners, and specialist nurses, our team is committed to delivering exceptional, high-quality care. Our state-of-the-art Chestnut Unit outpatient department offers one-stop clinics, supported by a multidisciplinary team. Robotic surgeries are performed using the Da Vinci X system in the Freedom Operating Theatres, equipped with two robotic consoles to facilitate hands-on training, with surgical care practitioners providing bedside assistance. We provide comprehensive urological services, including:
We collaborate closely with interventional radiology (available 24/7), general radiology, clinical oncology, general surgery, ITU, and anaesthetics.

Ideal candidates will have completed their urology training and are seeking to specialise further in Robotic Pelvic Onco-Urology. The fellowship provides in-depth experience in robotic pelvic oncology surgery, particularly radical prostatectomy and cystectomy, with the goal of enabling independent robotic surgery practice by the end of the fellowship. Experience within the UK healthcare system or an equivalent setting is desirable. Overseas applicants must be eligible for General Medical Council registration and have achieved an overall IELTS score of at least 7.5. Please refer to the GMC website for registration requirements. As a Pelvic Urology Oncology Robotic Fellow, your responsibilities will include:
- Comprehensive robotic training focused on pelvic malignancies.
- Managing urological oncology patients, primarily with pelvic cancers.
- Developing expertise in robotic-assisted procedures such as prostatectomy, cystectomy, and pelvic exenteration.
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including medical/radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and specialist nurses.
- Contributing to clinical research and audit projects, with opportunities to present findings at national and international conferences.
- Participating in teaching and training for resident doctors and surgical trainees.
