NHS Medical & Dental: Specialty Trainee (ST6-8)

Trosolwg o'r swydd

The Urology Department, led by Mr. Paul Hunter-Campbell, includes 14 consultants—the largest team in the Peninsula region. Supported by nine middle-grade doctors providing 24-hour on-call cover, as well as trainees, foundation doctors, surgical care practitioners, and specialist nurses, our team is committed to delivering exceptional, high-quality care.

Our state-of-the-art Chestnut Unit outpatient department offers one-stop clinics, supported by a multidisciplinary team. Robotic surgeries are performed using the Da Vinci X system in the Freedom Operating Theatres, equipped with two robotic consoles to facilitate hands-on training, with surgical care practitioners providing bedside assistance.

We provide comprehensive urological services, including:

  • Complex kidney stone surgery with the only fixed-site lithotripter in the Peninsula.
  • Functional and neuro-urology.
  • Andrological care for the entire Peninsula.
  • Bladder outflow obstruction treatments including HoLEP.
  • Paediatric urology, including laparoscopic procedures.
  • Kidney transplantation.
  • Uro-oncology services for prostate, bladder, renal, and penile cancers.
  • Tertiary referrals for radical prostatectomy, cystectomy, partial nephrectomy, and adrenalectomy from The Royal Cornwall Hospital.

We collaborate closely with interventional radiology (available 24/7), general radiology, clinical oncology, general surgery, ITU, and anaesthetics.
