We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Registered Nurse to join our Tissue Viability Service team on a part time substantive contract for (0.4wte) 2 days per week.   

As a Band 6 Tissue Viability CNS, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues and patients with complex wounds across the acute & community hospital, community services and Nursing/Care Homes.

Main duties of the job

To be directly responsible to the Lead Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist, (Lead TVCNS), and accountable to the Head of Tissue Viability Services.

To support the effective co-ordination and provision of the Tissue Viability Services (TVS).

To provide leadership, professional support, clinical and specialist knowledge that is underpinned by theory in the field of Tissue Viability for adults and children. Accountable for own professional practice and caseload management, not being directly supervised.

To provide evidence-based pressure area care advice, in accordance with both Trust Policy and National Guidance directives, to promote the continued reduction of healthcare acquired pressure ulcers.

Provide Tissue Viability training and clinical advice to patients, nurses and allied health professionals working within the multi-disciplinary environment.

To assess patients; plan, implement, monitor and review care, by providing specialist advice by face-to-face contact, telephone or email.

To act as clinical advisor/educator to develop the wound prevention and treatment skills of Trust staff, in accordance with evidence-based policies and guidelines.

To participate in research initiatives and clinical audit as required.
