The role as labour ward Coordinator midwife is pivotal to the team and this is a perfect opportunity for career development or change. We are looking for labour ward Coordinators in addition to our existing team with a focus on the health and wellbeing of our patients and staff, reducing risk and encouraging patient flow.
The role will enable 2 coordinators on labour ward, separately defined with a focus on safety, one to oversee the labour ward in the "shift lead" role, the second to oversee the department supporting students and preceptors with cannulation and suturing, encouraging patient flow, reducing "red flags", receiving phones calls at night from staff regarding absence, overseeing breaks, supporting in times of escalation and undertaking midwifery duties where requiring to support patient care.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.
If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
