Calling all High Intensity CBT and EMDR Therapists.

Our highly regarded Steps to Wellbeing services are recruiting for a New Role in our recently piloted Flourish service - part of the new Complex Trauma Pathway.

We are looking for people to bring energy, enthusiasm, and a high level of skills and experience.  We are recruiting to North Dorset – Blandford, Sherborne and Shaftesbury, and Weymouth and Portland. There are several roles available with the flexibility to work full or part time and across areas.  

The Steps 2 Wellbeing service prides itself on being innovative and  passionate, the Flourish concept is a shining example of this. What is Flourish?  A PTSD/Trauma pathway for patients who require more complex psychological interventions than previously available.

Patients on the Flourish Pilot reported their treatment has changed their lives and in some instances cited it had saved their life100% of patients in the pilot agreed they were able to manage their emotions and look forward to a more positive future. Main duties of the job

You will provide one to one high intensity CBT or EMDR, alongside stabilisation and collaboration with Peer Specialists to provide the Flourish care model for adults with symptoms of PTSD and C-PTSD.

Good administrative, time management and communication skills are also essential. Experience of working within the NHS or similar organisation is highly desirable.

Person specification

Educational Requirements/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology
  • Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course [Post Graduate Diploma]
  • A recorded/registered qualification in one of– nursing, social work, occupational therapy or a psychological therapy plus further post graduate qualification training in CBT
  • Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competences as required.
  • Accreditation with appropriate professional body (HPC, BABCP).
Desirable criteria
  • Working towards or accredited EMDR Therapist
  • Additional training in Schema therapy, Attachment theory or Solution Focused Therapy

Skills/Experience/Knowledge base

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in Primary Care Services
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Completed clinical audits within a service.
  • Knowledge of Dialoge Plus, ReQual, PCL5 measure
  • Ability to facilitate and develop groups.

Personal Qualities and Aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of demonstrating the Trust’s values and behaviours.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with diverse communities and within a multicultural setting.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge base

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrated experience of working in mental health services with clients who present with a range mental health issues and complexity.
  • Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets
  • Demonstrated high standards in written communication
  • Experience with routine outcome monitoring
  • Experience of teaching and liaising with other Mental health Professional
  • Has received training [formal or through experience] and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates and understanding of PTSD C-PTSD and how it may impact family systems.
  • Knowledge of medication used in PTSD and C-PTSD and other common mental health problems.
  • Demonstrates and understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection issues and other relevant legislation.
