Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist to join our friendly front-of-house and administration team based at Dragon Parade Clinic, Harrogate, which is a community CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service).

The post is a full time post - Monday to Friday 9 - 5pm. Cover on some occasions 8.30 - 4.30 may be required.

Dragon Parade clinic is near to the town centre, easy access to trains and buses.

Previous NHS experience not essential. 

 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a friendly, customer-focussed Receptionist to join a small administration team.   Reception duties include greeting service users, carers, staff and visitors and answering queries via telephone and email.  The ability to remain calm and communicate clearly is essential as well as promoting a positive culture for children and young people  living with mental health issues.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform basic admin tasks, update clinic lists,  maintain visitor logs, issue access cards, deal with incoming & outgoing post, photocopying and ensure that all information in the reception area for staff and public is clearly displayed and updated as appropriate.   

 

Working for our organisation

We are the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, who offers support to children and young people from the age of 6 to 18. 

We are team of supportive clinician's who work tightly with our administration team.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • ITQ Level 2 or equivalent
  • Key skills in literacy and numeracy Level 2 or O Level / GCSE in Maths and English grade C or above
Desirable criteria
  • Diploma/NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or Customer Service

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience working in an administrative role in an office environment
  • Experience of working in a front of house/retail setting.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with young people and families

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Understanding of confidentiality and the associated legal and policy requirements

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Input data accurately/efficiently
  • Demonstrate good organisational and time management skills including ability to prioritise effectively
  • Demonstrate good customer service skills
