Are you passionate about helping children and young people reach their full potential? We're looking for enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapists to join our dynamic team in the beautiful Tees Valley - a region that offers the perfect balance of career development and quality of life. 

Following a recent reconfiguration of two separate services into one, we are developing our clinical teams. 

We're looking for therapists who:

Are HCPC registered

Are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people

Have strong communication and teamwork skills

Have a commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the service development and delivery for children and young people with communication and interaction needs. 

You'll work within a supportive, forward thinking team, delivering a speech and language therapy service to children and young people across a range of settings including:

Schools and nurseries

Hospitals and community clinics

Homes and virtual platforms

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma and licence to practice as a speech and language therapist as approved by Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
  • Current registration as a qualified speech & language therapist with the Health Care Professions Council

  • Evidence of post-graduate study relevant to the post
  • Evidence of leadership training

Other

  • Holds UK driving licence and has access to a car for work purposes

Experience

  • Relevant post-preceptorship experience working with a range of children in the specialist area of communication and interaction
  • Working in partnership with children, young people and their families
  • Some experience of providing appropriate advice for EHCPs

  • Experience of working in a range of environments, including education settings
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working with health, social care and education teams.

Skills

  • Well-developed communication skills: able to motivate, negotiate, persuade, empathise, communicate sensitively, sympathetically and with reassurance.
  • Able to make judgements involving highly complex information
  • Knowledge, skills & understanding of children & young people in the specialist area of communication and interaction needs
