Duty Nurse Co-ordinator

We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.
We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public. The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.

This post is being advertised to address a temporary need for 8 months however the Trust has made the commitment to offer the successful applicant a permanent contract with the Trust. In the event that the need for this post ends, a suitable alternative post will be offered. Applicants should be aware that alternatives may require some flexibility on role and/or location.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Duty Nurse Co-Ordinator based on Ebor Ward (Female adult acute mental health) at Foss Park Hospital.
The post holder will work predominantly nights and a rotation of days on the advertised base ward, providing a senior nursing presence on a supernumerary basis, supporting Mental Health Services for Adult Mental Health, Adult Learning Disabilities, Older Person's and Children’s Services within North Yorkshire and York, while based at Foss Park Hospital.
The Duty Nurse Co-ordinator will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality, patient focused care in collaboration with family and in conjunction with partnership working. In this role you will providing support, clinical advice, ad hoc supervision and coaching to junior members of staff and coordination of nursing resources as appropriate.
