Job overview

We are excited to invite experienced Clinical Support Worker with a passion for child development to join our forward‑thinking and supportive Child Development Service.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Support Worker. You will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, providing essential clinical and administrative support within a clinic setting and contributing to a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for children, young people, and their families. The role is cross site working.

 

This role offers a supportive and inclusive team culture, regular 1.2.1s and in house training sessions, along with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on lives and outcomes of the children and families we serve.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the smooth operation of clinics, ensuring a well-organised and patient-focused environment
  • Welcome, engage, and interact with children and families, providing reassurance and support.
  • Ensure clinic rooms are prepared, stocked, and ready for use.
  • Assist clinicians with observation and supervision of children where appropriate.
  • Support with basic clinical observations, record keeping and administrative tasks.
  • Help maintain efficient patient flow in a busy clinic setting.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.

 

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident communicating with children, families and professionals.
  • A team player who is organised, proactive, and adaptable.
  • Able to work effectively in a busy and sometimes demanding environment.

Experience working with children or within a healthcare or care setting is essential.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths
  • Care Certificate
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc
  • Education and training to NVQ level 3/Work based diploma or equivalent
  • 5 GCSE grade 4 or C and above or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience of working in Health or Social Care Environment delivering personal care
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant experience working in the NHS

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work under instruction from a Registered Professional without direct supervision and support
  • Digital Skills, use of systems and ability to use physiological recording equipment and record findings
  • Good communication skills and ability to document care episode or event on digital systems or written
  • Ability to undertake vital observations and recognise any concerns that require escalation to a registered professional
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of development of knowledge and skills relevant to role
  • Training and competence in clinical tasks relevant to role ie. Cannulation, wound care, ECG
