UHSussex is pleased to have secured external funding for the role of Procurement Systems IMS Specialist.

University Hospitals Sussex employs nearly 20,000 people and has an operating budget of more than £1.2 billion.  The Trust operates services from seven hospitals as well as numerous community and satellite services.  The Trust is responsible for all district general acute services for Brighton and Hove, West and Mid Sussex and parts of East Sussex.

University Hospital Sussex is a leading acute hospital trust, with rewarding career opportunities for caring, committed and innovative people, who wish to be valued for their work and empowered to improve the services we provide.  Reporting to the Procurement Systems Business Partner; based at our Chichester office location, this post offers the right individual the chance to work within the Procurement Systems team to keep things running smoothly and effect updates and changes aimed at supporting to deliver excellent clinical services and patient care.

Main duties of the job

· Investigate and resolve system configuration or operational processing issues with the new Inventory Management System

· Create, maintain and amend standing data in the new IMS, ensuring that changes made have appropriate governance in line with Trust policies and procedures.

·   Extract and analyse system data and produce of procurement reports relating to the IMS, ensuring that reports are available in a timely manner and line with agreed deadlines.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of department policies and procedures for the rollout of the IMS.

· Analyse spend and savings to progress the case bring further areas on line with IMS after the trial period evaluation has been completed.

 

· Design, organise and deliver system user training including the creation, ongoing development and maintenance of appropriate training documentation including system protocols and regularly reviewing quality and type of training provided through appropriate consultation with end-users, managers etc.

Person specification

Qualifactions

Essential criteria
  • Strong IT and analytical skills: Microsoft Office
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage priorities
  • Good verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Experience in delivering training to non-specialist staff
  • Ability to present and explain procurement matters to all levels
Desirable criteria
  • Hold or working toward Data Analyst or other relevant accreditation
  • In depth understanding of role and purpose of IMS
  • Understanding of NHS eDC, Nexus and other systems used across Procurement
