We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Therapy Assistant to join our friendly, dynamic therapy team.  This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive multidisciplinary environment, helping patients to regain and improve their quality of life, building confidence and improving their daily living and mobility skills.

Main duties of the job

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering therapy treatment plans developed by qualified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists
  • Supporting patients with personalised exercise programs, functional mobility, and daily tasks like personal care
  • Working one-to-one and in group settings to help patients regain independence
  • Accurately documenting patient progress using our electronic patient record system (basic IT skills required)

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We want someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic and patient-centred
  • A strong communicator with great interpersonal skills
  • Organised and flexible approach
  •    Willing to learn and develop, with support from our team and structured competency training
     Previous experience in therapy or rehabilitation is desirable but not essential—if you have the right attitude and a willingness to learn, we’ll support you every step of the way.
  • This post is full time, 37.5 hours a week, part-time hours will be             considered and is based in Crawley Hospital.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • NVQ3 or equivalent level of knowledge

Experience

Essential criteria
  • At least 12 months experience of working in a caring environment, either in health, social or voluntary services
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a rehabilitation or therapy setting
  • Experience working in intermediate care

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent verbal communication and ability to build rapport
  • Able to give instructions to people that can be followed and easily interpreted
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a Team
  • Ability to prioritise and plan delegated work from a variety of sources, meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure
  • Ability to record information accurately
  • Admin skills
  • Basic understanding of statutory health and Social Services
