Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our surgical team, as we open the newly appointed Sussex Surgical Centre (Elective Surgical Hub).
This consists of 4 new theatres, 2 existing day surgery theatres, pre-assessment, first and seconds stage recovery.
The unit will be open from 07:00 to 22:00 and theatres will be operating a 10 hour day between 08:00 and 18:00.

Within the elective hub we will be caring for a variety of day case surgical patients including Trauma and Orthopaedics, General Surgery ,Urology, Gynaecology, ENT Maxilla Facial and other specialities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a comprehensive multi-faceted, wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward to support the Nursing and Medical staff in the smooth day to day running of the Sussex Surgical Centre. They will be responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients and the smooth running of the SSC / department office. They will also provide general assistance in the management and adherence of Trust Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) relating to the ward area. To ensure patients are appropriately received, admitted, transferred, discharged and where necessary arrange for follow-up appointments to be made. To maintain OASIS in an accurate and timely fashion throughout the working day/liaise with Information department as required. To undertake reception/administrative duties for the area, communicating with a wide range of people, in a variety of situations. To protect and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. To carry out all duties in a professional manner, adhering to the policies and procedures of the Trust and conforming with current legislation concerning Health & Safety at Work. Responsible for upholding the agreed set of values and accountable for own attitude and behaviour.
