Job overview
Critical Care is fully committed to audit and provides a dynamic environment conducive to gaining additional knowledge and skills. We are looking for a Critical Care Audit Nurse – Band 6 to assist the team with managing, organising and delivering a high standard of audit & data.
We are looking for a registered nurse with at least 2 years critical care experience who has the critical care course. The candidate needs to be motivated and passionate about audit and demonstrate this. The critical care setting is characterized by high patient acuity and a fast-paced work environment. Due to the nature of the role, excellent IT skills and high levels of concentration are needed to be able to work effectively.
This post involves working closely with the Band 7 – Audit Lead Nurse as well as other audit nurses, supporting and promoting a cohesive audit team.
The post holder will have the responsibility for the provision of high quality data and ensuring that this is used to maintain quality care to the benefit of the critically ill patient.
Main duties of the job
The role is high profile and requires you to work with a team with varied skills and experience. You will be working closely with the Data Lead Sister inputting and validating data for submission internally to management and externally to ICNARC, NHSE and the Critical Care Network. You will also be responsible for undertaking unit audits and using this data to produce reports for submission to the management team. You must be a committed Critical Care nurse with exemplary communication, IT/computer and interpersonal skills, who is an excellent role model and passionate about audit and its role in maintaining quality and safety. - Registered Nurse and hold active registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Degree level qualification relevant to role
- Professional qualification and training to lead the clinical team with relevant knowledge and skills for specialist area, including relevant formal training/qualification to deliver the required specialist skills and programmes of care
- Education and training qualification
- Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc
