Job overview
This post is responsible for deputising: the provision of all administrative services, telephone support, customer support with oversight and assisting the running of all the Department Financial systems (including placing and auditing all individual Clinical Engineering orders – current annual spend approximately £2M p.a.), assisting in the negotiation and placing of contracts and service level agreements.
Main duties of the job
The Post-holder will co-ordinate and contribute to the delivery of a wide range of other administrative support tasks to the Department. The Post-holder will also provide secretarial and PA Support to the Clinical Engineering Manager in absence of Clinical Engineering administrator.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Evidence of good general level of education level including Maths and English
- NVQ 3 Business and Administration or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Desirable criteria
- NVQ 4 in Business Administration
- ECDL or equivalent IT qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of administrative and clerical work within the NHS or a similar environment
- Previous experience of working in a customer care environment
- Experience of developing and implementing office systems and processes
- Experience of searching a range of resources for evidence-based information
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in Clinical Engineering
- Previous experience of working in the NHS
- Experience of and confidence in using SQL databases and information technology in the workplace
Skills
Essential criteria
- Good IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
- Able to work methodically and accurately with the ability to see project / tasks through to completion
