Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Regional East Sussex Pulmonary Service (RESPS) to support the delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation and oxygen to patients within the community and outpatient clinics.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual with a wide range of skills to provide an expert service for the care and management of patients with chronic respiratory conditions.

The RESPS team provide Pulmonary Rehabilitation, specialist physiotherapy, specialist nursing, oxygen and support with home NIV/neuromuscular diseases with respiratory complications across EHS and H&R CCG. We are a team of physiotherapists, nurses and respiratory support workers that provide holistic care to respiratory patients within the community setting.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone with proven recent experience of working with patients through direct care or in a therapy setting. Experience of the community setting would be advantageous but not essential. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as excellent organisational and time management skills. You must also be able to work both as part of a team and autonomously.

You will need to show your commitment, enthusiasm and drive to develop your own clinical, and team working skills within the service. You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, work autonomously and be able to demonstrate effective teamwork. You will be supported through regular team meetings, 1-1 sessions and ongoing education and development.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education, including English and Maths.
  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in direct care or a therapy discipline or proven equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Ability to undertake relevant activities to meet training objectives

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of nursing and/or working with nurses or physiotherapists
  • Some experience of working with adults/ elderly people in a care/nursing, therapy setting.
Desirable criteria
  • Supervision of group exercises
  • Experience of working with respiratory patients / group sessions.
