We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Oncology Department supporting the clinical secretarial team. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of our services and play a vital role in supporting patient care.
In this role, you’ll be proof-reading and editing clinical letters and reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity in patient communications. You’ll also carry out basic administrative tasks as needed, helping to keep things organised and efficient. you’ll be part of a team that works behind the scenes to support clinicians and improve patient experience.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has excellent attention to detail and strong written English, including spelling and grammar
- Is committed to delivering high-quality work
- Is flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Is confident using IT systems and thrives in a busy environment
- Holds GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent and communicates professionally
Experience with NHS systems or in a healthcare setting is an advantage, but not essential — we’re happy to train the right person who’s eager to learn.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will undertake letter processing, scanning and general admin duties.
It is essential that you are able to demonstrate good interpersonal, verbal and written skills and have a "can do" attitude. You will have a good level of IT literacy as you will be using multiple software packages.
