Job overview

Join us in beautiful East Sussex at Eastbourne District General hospital. Home to some of Sussex's finest coast and countryside. We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 radiographer to join our expanding Department of Radiology at Eastbourne Hospital who is trained in CT.

This is a clinical role with an emphasis on General, AE and theatre/mobile work and CT Scanning so the right candidate will require relevant experience.

Previous experience working as a radiographer in the UK or working in a Radiology Department at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust will be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

Shift duties to provide a comprehensive 24 hour, 365 day a year service in  General Radiography and CT scanning are an essential part of this role. You should be able to work a variety of shifts in order to meet this commitment together with out of hours working including ongoing commitment to night duties.

The department is home to a a full range of General X-ray equipment, fluoroscopy, theatres and mobile equipment, interventional equipment and GE CT Scanners (CT Revolution and GE Revolution Evo).

Additional duties include supervision of junior staff, clinical audit, vetting and justification overview, as well as being an independent practitioner.

The department actively supports internal training in speciality modalities to include Cardiac and Interventional Radiography, CT scanning. External training is supported in Medical Ultrasound, Radiographer reporting and Mammography.

Essential criteria
  • BSc(Hons) Diagnostic Radiography / DCR
  • Evidence of continued professional development to post graduate diploma level or equivalent knowledge and skills
  • HPC Registration
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Training in supervisory skills
  • Staff management / supervisory training / skills
  • Post graduate short courses or other training in relevant subject

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of participation in all elements of Clinical Governance
  • Previous experience of working in an imaging department providing a variety of imaging services to an advanced level of practice
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cat Lab
  • Evidence of supervisory experience within complex clinical imaging environment
  • Evidence of staff training and mentoring
  • Staff and resource management experience
