Job overview

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Resuscitation Officer to work within the Resuscitation Department as a permanent position.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse; ODP or paramedic and have relevant skills in resuscitation practice.  You will have a valid professional registration with the NMC or the HCPC. You will work closely with the other Resuscitation Officers in the team and other healthcare workers of all disciplines across the Trust.

The post is for 5 x days per week, which will be flexible to the needs of the department site wise. You will work across the Trust’s sites, and your base location will be decided upon application.

Within the post you will be encouraged to maintain and develop your clinical and leadership skills within the field of resuscitation.

Main duties of the job

To provide resuscitation services both clinical (as part of the emergency resuscitation teams) and educational (training of medical staff; nurses; AHP’s and students) across the Trust.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered healthcare professional: RGN level 1; ODP or paramedic
  • RCUK ILS / PILS current provider certificate
  • Evidence of continued professional development in relevant subject
Desirable criteria
  • ILS and/or PILS Instructor
  • ALS and/or EPALS Provider or Instructor
  • ENB 998 or C&G 730/7
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Trauma qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of resuscitation procedures
  • Experience relating to critically ill patients
  • Previous experience of teaching resuscitation
Desirable criteria
  • Member of various emergency teams within the Trust

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Sound knowledge of aspects of resuscitation of all patient groups
Desirable criteria
  • Advanced airway skills
