Highly Specialised Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist/ Osteopath  

We are in an exciting time of transformation working  with our East Sussex MSK Partnership Collaboration to deliver East Sussex Healthcare MSK services.  Having established AP and FCP posts and developed our MSK care pathways, we are now looking to recruit a Band 7 MSK  Physiotherapist/ Osteopath to join our clinical teams to support delivery of those pathways. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Band 6 with significant clinical and leadership experience working within an MSK specialised physiotherapy/ Osteopathy role.   If you are looking for the next step in your MSK clinical career, we would like to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate expertise in MSK clinical assessment and treatment, in conjunction with leadership skills to support our AP’s, team leads and clinical lead/ Rehab Lead physiotherapist in the delivery of our MSK care pathways. You will have a strong CPD base from which you will be supported to further develop specialist skills.

There is opportunity to develop skills in sub specialities that align to our MSK care pathways such as; upper limb, lower limb, rheumatology, and spinal. 

Innovation is key to the development of our services. You will be fundamental in the clinical development of others and service quality improvement initiatives, and as such will be expected to take the development opportunities and projects we can offer you.   We have close links with the University of Brighton and others, and post graduate education is actively encouraged.

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust currently delivers a musculoskeletal physiotherapy service within 8 outpatient settings across East Sussex. 

As part of the new East Sussex MSK Partnership, we are in an exciting time of collaboration reviewing our combined expertise in pathways of care with a focus on equality of access for our patients,  as well as building on a strong foundation of quality and innovation. 

This post involves close working alongside our AP’s, FCPs Clinical Band 7’s and MSK Team Leads to deliver that quality and innovation in clinical practice. 

This will require cross site working so ability to travel is essential.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy / Osteeopathy
  • Current registration with HCPC or General Osteopathic Council (GOC)
  • Post-graduate qualification or proven equivalent experience / training in a relevant field
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant validated clinical course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience, with minimum 6 months musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy experience
  • Experience of training/supervision of rotational – technical – assistant and staff and students
  • Experience of multi-professional MDT working ie. Podiatry, Occupational Therapy, Advance Practitioners.

  • Good knowledge of physiotherapy / osteopathy in relevant area
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both verbal and non verbal
