Join our Team at Beeding SCBU: Exciting Opportunity for a Neonatal Nurse Deputy Sister in Worthing, West Sussex.
Are you an experienced Neonatal Nurse seeking a new and exciting challenge? Do you want the opportunity to enhance your leadership, management and professional development? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you at Beeding SCBU in Worthing.
We are a Level 1 unit with 12 cots, providing care for babies born at 32 weeks gestation and above. Out unit includes 2 High Dependency cots and 10 special care cots. We are dedicated to Family Integrated Care, supporting families to care for their babies in preparation for discharge, with continued support from our neonatal outreach teams.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Deputy Sister with good communication as well as qualification in neonatal speciality to join our talented team. As a proficient practitioner, you will take charge of the ward in the absence of the ward sister, providing supervision, mentorship, and teaching of junior staff. You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of care for neonates and their families, ensuring adherence to trust policies and procedures.
There is a comprehensive Band 6 Development Plan for two years which is due to be launched soon.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care for babies born for stabilisation, possible transfers, including high dependency and special care.
- Lead and support the team in the absence of the Ward Sister.
- Supervise, mentor and teach junior staff, acting as a role model.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff.
- Develop personal development plans for staff in conjunction with the ward sister.
