Job overview
We are delighted to advertise this opportunity for a suitably-qualified radiographer to join our dedicated team and develop a career in MRI where all our outcomes aim to meet the highest standard of imaging quality and patient care. In addition to contributing to our dynamic and varied MRI service, the successful candidate will be able to maintain skills within the CT modality. With a rotation between Worthing Hospital and Southlands Hospital Community Diagnostic Centre, the successful candidate will benefit from exposure to a wide range of inpatient, emergency and outpatient scenarios. Working with a Siemens AvantoFit 1.5T scanner at Worthing Hospital, MRI radiographers are at the front line of inpatient imaging activity. The MRI service at Southlands CDC is currently expanding with the installation of a second Siemens Sola 1.5T scanner; at this site we perform scans for cancer pathways, paediatrics, neurology, vascular, breast and we are soon to extend our cardiac MRI service at the new CDC which will include stress examinations.
Main duties of the job
First and foremost, we are a team that thrives on a commitment to produce the best patient experience possible in all cases, whilst maintaining the highest levels of imaging quality. The MRI radiographers are all encouraged to develop skills which enable them to assist with coordination of daily work lists and build on knowledge of MRI techniques according to current national and local practice. Involvement with daily Quality Assurance tasks. Supporting the clerical team with MRI-related safety queries.
Working in accordance to MRI safety guidelines, IR(ME)R, IRR and local policy.
When the staff rotas permit, we will offer the opportunity to have time within the CT department to maintain and develop skills as a cross-sectional radiographer.
UHSussex is a teaching Trust; we expect all radiographers to offer positive contribution at all times to students who are on placement with us. This support is extended to junior members of staff working within the team.
