Job overview

Flexible shifts  Band 6 - £22.21 per hour + WTD.

We are looking for experienced and motivated individuals to work in our quality teams of AHPs across our acute and community hospitals.

You will need to be familiar with the full range of physiotherapy/occupational therapy duties and committed to delivering high quality care. Therefore applicants must have a minimum of 1 year NHS (or similar) recent experience as a qualified registered AHP

Please note that pay is weekly or monthly for Bank staff

Main duties of the job

To be an experienced physiotherapist responsible for providing 
assessment, treatment, re-evaluation,  advice and equipment for 
patients, carers and other professionals within each  
rotation.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Diploma / degree in physiotherapy
  • Diploma / degree in physiotherapy Current registrant as required by HPC
  • Post-graduate qualification or proven equivalent experience / training in a relevant field
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Post graduate qualifications in a relevant topic
  • Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Full range of undergraduate placements
  • 2 years post graduate experience within an acute hospital environment
  • Completion of core rotations (must include orthopaedics, MSK, neurology and respiratory)
  • Experience of supporting other staff/ assistants
Desirable criteria
  • Experience as a band 6 physiotherapist
  • Experience within acute neurological rehabilitation services
  • Experience within ITU/ Critical Care

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Confident with core physiotherapy skills
  • Will have the ability to carry out physiotherapy assessment and intervention incorporating manual physiotherapy techniques, therapeutic handling and safe use of equipment, using the skills of highly developed dexterity, co-ordination and palpatory senses
  • Experience supervising assistants and students
  • Flexible approach to work so able to work alone and within an MDT

Other

Essential criteria
  • Ability to travel between sites in an efficient and timely manner
  • Flexibility in working hours and patterns, including weekends
