Job overview
Main duties of the job
- Provide basic foot care, including nail and skin treatment, following care plans
- Support podiatrists during clinics, dressing changes, and nail surgery sessions
- Share simple foot health advice with patients and carers
- Update patient records and assist with appointment booking and admin tasks
- Help prepare equipment, maintain stock, and ensure a safe, clean environment
- Experience working in a caring or public-facing role
- Good communication skills and a kind, respectful approach
- Basic IT skills and ability to keep accurate records
- Willingness to learn and work towards relevant qualifications
- Ability to manage your time and work both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care related subject or willingness to work towards this
- Willingness to work towards the national qualification for Podiatry Assistants awarded by the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists
Desirable criteria
- Any biology GCSE or equivalent
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of working in a health and social care environment
- Basic IT skills
- Knowledge of basic medical conditions
Desirable criteria
- Experience of moving and handling
Experience
Essential criteria
- Working with people in a caring setting e.g. care homes
- Working with the public
Desirable criteria
- Previous NHS experience
