Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Evolve - Hull Community Eating Disorder Service for an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner to work within our established and innovative treatment programme for adults with eating disorders.  

Main duties of the job

The role will involve undertaking specialist assessments, formulating treatment plans, supporting meals, and delivering evidence-based interventions on an individual basis or in a group setting. Home and office-based working is available.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional Health Qualification, RMN, RN, SW, OT or equivalent therapy training with recognised accreditation
  • Evidence of further professional development to postgraduate level or currently working towards
  • Evidence of further training/learning in eating disorders

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a mental health setting
  • Ability to independently carry out specialist eating disorder assessments
  • Use of IT equipment/systems to work effectively
  • Experience in MDT working within the mental health setting
  • Can operate as an autonomous practitioner
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload
  • Experience of facilitating treatment groups
  • Experience of supervising others
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with eating disorders
  • Experience of the treatment/ management of eating disorders

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge/understanding and experience of eating disorder management and treatments
  • Knowledge of mental health risk assessment
  • Understanding of current mental health legislation pertaining to the management of eating disorders
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of research and audit methods
