Job overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Band 5 LD (Learning Disability), Mental Health, or Children’s Nurse to join our friendly team at Sunshine House short break care. Main duties of the job
As a Registered Band 5 Nurse at Sunshine House, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of nursing care and support that are tailored to the unique needs of everyone in our stay. We will be registered with Ofsted who provide quality standards and regulation which need to be always adhered to. Your role will involve administering medication and monitoring health conditions as required, ensuring that all healthcare interventions are carried out safely and effectively. You will also contribute to care planning, participate in risk assessments, and uphold safeguarding procedures to protect those in your care. Providing emotional support to children, young people, and their families is a key part of the position, as is promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere in line with the values of CHCP. We are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience of working with children and young people who have complex health needs. Excellent communication skills, a caring and patient nature, and the ability to work flexibly—including evenings and weekends—are essential qualities for this role. A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals is also required. Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse e.g. Child/Learning Disabilities/General
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Teaching Qualification e.g. ENB 998 or equivalent
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Clinical skills competencies
- Knowledge of health care planning
- Familiarity and understanding of child development and complex health needs
- Good working knowledge of electronic care records
Desirable criteria
- Good understanding of the needs of children with complex health needs/life limiting conditions
- Ability to delegate duties and prioritise workload
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post Registration experience in a clinical setting
- Experience of working with children and young people with complex health needs
- Experience of working with families and carers
- Experience of multi-agency working
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of presentation and teaching/training skills
