Job overview

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic person to join the administration team within Ophthalmology based at Hull Royal and East Riding Community Hospital

You will also ensure an effective and efficient administrative service is maintained.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the delivery of the Trust’s Waiting List Policy and in meeting performance targets, quality and activity targets and in ensuring continuous development and maintenance of processes.

You will be able to communicate at all levels, work flexibly and be able to organise and prioritise your own workload.

You will manage outpatient waiting lists, oversee the utilisation of clinics, manage staffing, track patients through their clinical pathways, contact patients via the telephone, welcome patients to the department on the reception desk, and a variety of other administration duties. This is a varied role and dynamic role

Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 4 GCSE’s or equivalent (grade 4 or above)
  • NVQ level 2 /BTEC equivalent, preferably in Customer Service or Administration
  • Good IT skilld
  • Customer care training/telephone skills
Desirable criteria
  • Previous Administration experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of providing a service to patients/customers
  • A proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbally
  • Good organisational skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
