Job overview
assist in the receipt, checking and storage of pharmaceutical bought in compounded and raw materials, consumables including cleaning products for aseptic processing against approved purchase orders meeting set standards for condition and documentation. Regularly participates in cleaning the aseptic unit as specified in the quality diary including the quarterly full cleans.
effectively contribute to the maintenance of appropriate stock levels of drugs and consumables used within the aseptic unit, minimising waste while ensuring sufficient stock is available to prepare treatments.
Personally responsible for maintaining your validation kit status enabling you to perform key activities and completing mandatory training as assigned on the training software package.
Delivering aseptically prepared items including controlled drugs to wards and clinical areas, responsible for effective, timely and clear communication in response to queries, errors and problems, escalating to the appropriate team member when necessary.

Main duties of the job
You will participate and assist in the delivery of the aseptic unit service, working accurately, efficiently to agreed standards and departmental procedures ensuring targets are met.
Following a comprehensive training programme including competency assessments you will work towards undertaking the assembly, labelling and dispensing of aseptic products including but not limited to Parenteral Nutrition (PN) and Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments (SACT) and associated tasks.
May be required to undertake the NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services as a requirement of the post
Upon completion of training, you will participate in the late night, weekend, bank holiday and on-call rotas.
